Carlisle United suffered a loss against newly promoted side Lincoln City over the weekend but impressive star Reggie Lambe was on target yet again.

Lambe netted his third in as many games in the Sky Bet League fixture this campaign. The Cumbrian side suffered their biggest loss this term as they crashed 4-1 away at Sincil Bank.

Lincoln went ahead through Alex Woodyard, who scored a 22-yard screamer. The score line did not change until the break. In the second half, they dominated and got more goals.

Matthew Rhead intercepted a Tom Parkes pass and sent it to Woodyard who scored. Rhead also got on the scorer’s sheet as he converted a penalty awarded to them. The visitors scored what later proved to be just a consolation through Lambe. Billy Knott came off the bench to net the fourth for the hosts with a long range effort. League Two side Carlisle have confirmed the signing of Tom Parkes from Leyton Orient.

The defender agreed a two year deal with the Os after leaving his former club at the end of last season. The 25-year old plays dominantly in the centre half role. He featured in 44 games last season but Orient were relegated from the football league so he had to look elsewhere.

Current manager of Carlisle Keith Curle said that Parkes has the experience and that the player is hungry to achieve things. He praised the player’s communication skills as well.

“We’re all looking forward to working with him because we think he will have a positive impact on the group,” Curle added.

The player is a product of Leicester academy and has played in various sides that include Burton, Yeovil, and Bristol Rovers. He was on loan at the Rovers but the deal was made permanent in 2012 and he eventually became the skipper. He joined Orient last year but he was not able to keep them afloat. For Colchester United, their opening game of 2017 saw them elevated into the top-eight position in League Two.

They have had a remarkable transformation in both form and results and will be getting ready for their next game.

Their next match however, would see them host high-flying Carlisle United on Saturday. Weeks ago, Colchester United’s players had trudged off the pitch at Huish Park. This came on the heels of their defeat to Yeovil Town, which extended their winless run to a total of ten matches.

The loss was truly painful and saw forward Kurtis Guthrie, describing the form of the players as one in shambles. However, the turnaround has been amazing, with Colchester winning six out of their seven games after that disappointing match against the Glovers.

They have been quite dominant in most of the games in this unbeaten run, with setbacks at a minimal level. They have also developed new traits, and have showed the ability to recover from disappointments during games, overcome setbacks and come off triumphant. At the time of writing this article, Carlisle United is the only club of the English League Two that has not sustained a single league defeat as they have secured 6 triumphs and 7 draws out of their opening 13 matches of the current season.

The latest league match of Carlisle United was against Hartlepool United in a match that was played on October 15 and resulted with Carlisle edging out a victory with a final scoreboard of 3-2.

This victory over Hartlepool United was especially meaningful for Keith Curle and his squad due to the fact that they had to compete with only 10 players in the pitch for almost the entirety of the 2nd half and Carlisle United still managed to come out on top with the triumph despite having fewer players in the pitch which shows just how impressively they have been performing in this season.
