ON THE UP?

Carlisle are only 3 points above the last few bottom relegation spots of League One and their latest match result saw them losing 4-0 against Leyton Orient. Brad Potts of Carlisle knows that if his club wants to evade being relegated they have to dig deep and pick up positive results quickly.

Potts said: “The lads know we need to dig deep. If we don’t pick up we will be in a relegation battle. We know there will be a lot of pressure on next weekend’s game but everyone just wants to put it right.”

“Since I’ve been at the club the team has always been inconsistent – win a game, lose one, win a couple, lose, draw and we need to put that right. That means being more solid as a team, working hard for each other and that way we will start picking up results’’.

The side of Graham Kavanagh also has to cope with the absence of Paul Thirlwell who is suffering from a calf injury and will unavailable to play for a few weeks. Greg Fleming made his debut for Carlisie during their lost against Leyton Orient as the goalkeeper could do little to deny the opposition from scoring on 4 occasions.

The 19 years old midfielder Brad Potts talked about their defeat against Leyton when the match concluded.

“I don’t mind where I play but I do like playing in midfield, I feel that’s my best position.  But Saturday wasn’t a day where I could show what I can do’’.

“I don’t think we really had a shot in the entire game and it was one of those days when we didn’t get the ball out to David Amoo and Tom Lawrence as quickly as we could. Without that it’s hard to create stuff because they are matchwinners’’.
