FULHAM LIFELINE

Fulham managed to get themselves a lifeline in the fight against relegation after managing their 2-1 win against Aston Villa away from home. They have been unable to get results at Craven cottage this season. This has put the future of the club a major doubt, as they have been poor away from home throughout this campaign.

However, the club has managed to stun everyone by managing three points at Villa Park, which gives them a great hope of avoiding relegation with only five matches left. They are now five points behind Norwich city, who occupy the 17th place.

In order to avoid relegation, manager Felix Magath says that the club should target at least nine points from the remaining 15. He told the australia chile odds website that this would be a tall order for the club, but after two victories in the last five matches, the players could start believing that it is possible.

Magath’s arrival a few months ago did not immediately sparked a revival, but slowly he seems to be conveying his message to the players and getting the best out of them. Magath is the third full-time manager for the club this season.

Fulham have matches against relegation threatened opponents like Norwich and Crystal Palace in the remaining few weeks.

“It was very important we won here after losing our last home game. I think today was our last chance to stay in the league. Therefore, it was a very difficult game and a very spectacular result. For us to win in the last five minutes, is a signal to everybody that we are back in the league. We have to win our games now. It doesn’t matter which team we play. We need to win three of the last games to stay up. We will fight every game,” said Magath, whose team play against Norwich this weekend.
