Carlisle, who recorded an impressive win against Hartlepool on Tuesday, will want to keep their run going by beating Mansfield. However, Carlisle United defender MacauleyGillesphey recognized that it will not be easy and that they will need to stay focus if they want to make it to the play-offs.

Carlisle won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Hallam Hope in the 55th minute. Again, it was Gillesphey who made a sublime pass from defence to assist the substitute. Indeed, Gillesphey completed a wonderful performance in this game, and he was rewarded with a man of the match award.

Hartlepool started the match well and created chances early on, but Luke James missed the target from close range. Billy Paynter also had a crucial shot blocked. Carlisle also had chances of their own with JaboIbehre’s header saved by the keeper

Carlisle fans will want to believe that the defender and the team, in general, will be able to replicate the same performance against Mansfield.

Gillesphey was keen to state that the result against Hartlepool was a team effort and that they will need to show this solidarity again if they want to have a result against Mansfield. He said that everyone played their part against Hartlepool especially when they were under pressure.

The defender also recognizes the support provided by the fans during the game. He thanked them for their support and hoped that they will be behind the team against Mansfield as well.

Carlisle manager, Curle has also praised Gillesphey and has stated that the defender is progressing well. He believes that he will become a better player once his loan with Carlisle is over and that he returns to Newcastle. He hopes that the defender can contribute more to Carlisle attempt to qualify for the play-off.
