CARLISLE WANT TO TAKE UNITED STAR ON LOAN
Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams may still be on loan at Norwich and is not expected to return until the end of the season, but clubs are already queuing up to snap him up ahead of the forthcoming campaign. The arrival of Alex Telles from FC Porto last summer meant that Brandon would be having a tougher battle to play games at United, with Luke Shaw also in the competition for the left-back spot at Old Trafford. It was then decided by former United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjaer that the best decision would be to send him out on loan. Southampton were the first side to show an interest in the young player but failure to meet up with the Red Devils’ demands meant that he would not be moving to the St Mary’s.
Since securing a loan switch to Norwich, Brandon has become a better player and there were even reports that the club could be staging a request to United for the deal to be made permanent. However, United manager Ralf Ragnick has recently claimed that the youngster has a bright future at Old Trafford so any potential permanent move away from the club could be automatically off the cards.
Carlisle are looking to bolster their squad in the summer and a move for Williams could be in their books but it may only happen if they want a temporary move instead of a permanent one.
