Carlisle United’s season started off on a negative note as they only managed on claiming 3 triumphs during their initial 10 matches and their form progressed for the majority of the campaign and now have dropped into the League Two as the team of Graham Kavanagh has been relegated.

The 40 years old manager of Carlisle United has his work cut out as the Irishman revealed his intentions of remaining in charge of the club for the upcoming seasons but there are a number of tasks that needs to be done in order to change their future around and avoid any further disappointing seasons.

Kavanagh announced details concerning the condition of the club and the projects that lie ahead of him.
“I want to put my stamp on it. The chairman and the club have already said they want to give me that opportunity. I feel like I owe the fans and the club to make sure we are back in League One’’.

“I need a squad that’s honest, that’s hard working, that doesn’t make excuses, that doesn’t look for ways out, and that’s got quality. I’ll do all I can in the summer to make those changes and put a squad together that’s fit and capable of challenging at the top end of the table.” Kavanagh stated.

The Irishman is expected to offer contract extension to a few of his key players in the squad but the majority of them are one their way out of the club after Carlisle United sustained their first relegation in a decade.

The managing director of Carlisle United, John Nixon predicts that Kavanagh will be bringing around 10 new players into the club as it will them get back into League One and get better results.

Fulham managed to get themselves a lifeline in the fight against relegation after managing their 2-1 win against Aston Villa away from home. They have been unable to get results at Craven cottage this season. This has put the future of the club a major doubt, as they have been poor away from home throughout this campaign.

However, the club has managed to stun everyone by managing three points at Villa Park, which gives them a great hope of avoiding relegation with only five matches left. They are now five points behind Norwich city, who occupy the 17th place. Continue reading 'FULHAM LIFELINE'»

WENGER HAD NO CHOICE

The manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, has said that he didn’t want Cesc Fabregas to make his way to Barcelona 3 years back, but, he had no choice apart from letting him go because he was so keen to play for his boyhood club.

Fabregas had learnt all his football at Barcelona and had even played for their youth team before moving to Arsenal in 2003. He remained at Arsenal for 8 years and developed enormously as a player under the guidance of Wenger.

But, after becoming a superstar, he left Arsenal and returned to Barcelona. The Arsenal fans were absolutely gutted about that back then and so was the Arsenal management.

Talking about Fabregas’ transfer yesterday, Wenger said, “I badly wanted him to stay with us and I had a few animated discussions with him as well on that topic, but, I finally gave up. He was so eager to get back to his roots. He wanted to represent Barcelona and you know there was a bit of logic in that decision of his. That’s the place where he comes from, his family is there; his grandpa is associated with the club. So, it was pretty natural for him to be keen to return.”

When asked at which position Fabregas can be utilized the most, Wenger said, “I think he performs the best when he plays in the midfield. He plays upfront occasionally for his national side, but, I don’t think that’s the position where you can extract the best out of him. He is not one of those guys who rely on his physical presence that much.”

Fabregas played more than 200 league games for Arsenal during his 8-year long tenure and found the back of the net 35 times.
